There is a lot going on this spring on Spa Creek. Lend a hand to help pickup trash, clean oyster cages, plant trees, or enjoy a wine dinner to benefit Spa Creek Conservancy.
March 25, 1PM - Trash Pickup
Join us as we clean up trash from Spa Creek Headwaters as part of Project Clean Stream. Last year we carried out over 100 bags of trash.
We'll work from the Chesapeake Children's Museum up to Chinquapin. Gloves and trash bags provided. You will get dirty. Wear boots or shoes you don't mind getting wet and muddy.
1PM, Meet at the parking lot by the track at Weems Whalen Field, 935 Spa Road, Annapolis.
Mar 29, April 26, May 24 all at 5pm - Oyster Cage Cleaning with the Oyster Recovery Partnership
Capital SUP Annapolis, 808 Boucher Ave.
Come out and help clean the 50 oyster cages suspended from the docks of the South Annapolis Yacht Centre. 10 - 15 volunteers needed! Be prepared to get a little dirty for a good cause cleaning up the creek Oysters are a keystone species of the Chesapeake Bay, creating habitat and mini-ecosystems for juvenile crabs, fish, and eels. These oysters help to filter 50 gallons of water a day. Multiply that by 50 and we have 2,500 gallons of water being cleaned EACH DAY right here in Spa Creek!

Shoes that you are not concerned about getting dirty
Saturday, March 31, 10am - 2pm - Plant A Tree
Help improve stormwater runoff into Spa Creek by participating in this effort to plant trees and shrubs at two locations along Spa Creek
Teams will meet at:
1. Bates Middle School, 701 Chase St., Annapolis, Md 21401; or
2. Housing Authority of City of Annapolis, 1217 Madison St., Annapolis, Md 21403
April 29, 5-8pm. Luna Blu Ristorante April Charity Wine Dinner
Join Spa Creek Conservancy at Luna Blu Ristorante on West Street, for the April charity wine dinner. 10% of the proceeds will be donated to Spa Creek Conservancy along with 100% of the cash wine raffle. The dinner will include 5 small courses with wine pairings. Tickets are $70 per person including tax and gratuity. The menu can be viewed from the events page at www.lunabluofannapolis.com
Keep an eye out for GreenGive 2018. Last year Spa Creek Conservancy raised $20,000 during GreenGive, which helped fund expanded water testing and community outreach.
