Testing the water in Spa CreekThe water in Spa Creek is being tested in seven locations every Thursday morning, rain or shine, throughout the summer and twice monthly in September and October. The following water quality factors are among the values being tested:

  • Salinity
  • Conductivity
  • Dissolved Oxygen
  • pH
  • Chlorophyll A
  • Nitrogen
  • Phosphorous
  • Enterococci
  • Turbidity

 

Water samples are collected under the scientific direction of Environmental Center at Anne Arundel Community College Associate Professor Tammy Domanski, Ph.D. Staff at AACC analyze the water samples and data is posted within 24 hours.

This map represents the testing sites on Spa Creek: near the headwaters at South Cherry Grove Avenue, the bridge near the Chesapeake Children's Museum, Hawkins Cove, near the headwaters off of Silopanna Drive, the dock at Capital SUP, Ego Alley and the Eastport Yacht Club.
