The next steps for the Hawkins Cove Restoration Project in Annapolis, Maryland involves further clean up and tree and shrub plantings. The contractor planting will take place over the course of a few weeks in mid March 2018. The contractor planting will include wetland and forest floor vegetation, as well as trees and grasses. Once the contractor finishes the heavy work, supplemental planting will take place by volunteers and members of the HACA community. HACA community members will receive a stipend for their work. This opportunity will serve as a skills training program for the underserved community. Volunteers who would like to get involved can find information on the Spa Creek website and Facebook page.
