Join us for a First Day Hike up the headwaters of Spa Creek. You can bushwhack through the marsh with guides and see parts of the creek rarely explored, OR walk around the perimeter of the marsh on paved pathways. It’s approximately 2.5 miles roundtrip.
Expect wet and muddy conditions through the headwaters and be prepared to climb through thick brush in places. You’ll see beaver dams and areas of Annapolis rarely seen or expected. Not suitable for young children.
You can also experience walking around the headwaters by via sidewalk and side streets. While you won’t see the beaver dams, you also won’t get your feet muddy and you’ll still see parts of the marshy headwaters. This map will preview the route.
Both hikes will start at 1pm from the parking lot at Weems Whalen Field, behind Bates, 935 Spa Road. Check SpaCreek.net for updated times and information.
