Rockfish Tries to Eat Spa Creek White Perch

Home » News » Rockfish Tries to Eat Spa Creek White Perch
October 24, 2017

Spa Creek volunteer Fish Biologist, Simon Brown, found a striped bass at Amos Garrett Park in the water with small fish stuck in its mouth. The following videos show how Simon got the perch back into the water.

The Rockfish was already decomposing so it must have choked on this white perch at least a day or two ago. To my surprise the white perch stuck in its throat was still alive! I pulled it out of the striped bass through the decomposing Gill rakers and it was flopping around as I released it back into the water.
