Spa Creek Conservancy is grateful for your support and would like to invite you to several events that will celebrate the creek and show you the work that has been achieved over the past year.
Bench and Tree Dedication for Melvin Wilkins

On Sunday, December 19 at 1:30pm, there will be a dedication for the newly installed bench and tree in honor of the late, great Melvin Wilkins. Mel was the original Stewart of the Creek. Join us where the Conservancy began as we honor the man who started it. Mel’s fingerprints and oversized footprints are on every inch of Spa Creek. We will honor his vision and his unwavering commitment to clean water and to a vibrant creek for all. There will be fire in the fire pit, food and drinks. Bring your memories to share. Members of Mel’s family will be there to remember Mel with us. Meet at the Chesapeake Children’s Museum, 25 Silopanna Rd, Annapolis.
First Day Hike

Join us for our annual Walk the Creek. You can bushwhack through the marsh with guides and see the creek like the beavers and other critters who live there. OR walk around the perimeter of the marsh on paved pathways. It’s approximately 2.5 mile roundtrip. Both hikes will start at 1pm from the parking lot at Weems Whalen Field, behind Bates. Check SpaCreek.net for updated times and information.
State of Spa Creek
Dr. Tammy Domanski from the Environmental Center at Anne Arundel Community College will again present the Spa Creek report card to compare the 2021 numbers to those of previous years. This is a valuable tool as it gives a picture of the general conditions of Spa Creek and is an important part of any grant proposals we submit.
Date of the presentation to be announced soon.
